Eight Slopes of Tennoji

There are a lot of sloping streets in and around the Uemachi Dainichi plateau area. In particular, the sloping streets in the Tennoji area are very old and are of great historical significance.

Expo '70 Commemorative Park

Expo '70 was the first World Exposition hosted in Asia. The event was held in Senri, Osaka over a period of 183 days, from March 15th to September 13 in 1970. The theme of Expo '70 was "Progress and Harmony for Mankind."

Ikeda-sumi (Ikeda Charcoal)

Kyuanji Temple in Ikeda would offer charcoal to used by the Imperial Court for tea preparation between 1145 through 1870. Toyotomi Hideyoshi held the full moon tea party at the temple in the year 1595.

In the area of 290,000 square meters, there are some 102 burial mounds around the hill, 40 of which have been restored and open to visitors. These burial mounds offer the chance to learn something of Japan's cultural heritage.
